  • Hey now...a GPS is handy when you're in a city you don't know too well or one with a crazy street layout (e.g. Boston - love the city, but the streets can be a nightmare! Which is why it's a better walking city than one for driving).

  • Um, riiiiiight...yeah, let me tell you about those "so wonderful" Apples. My mother-in-law had an iMac G5 which her (now ex-) boyfriend talked her into buying; he's one of these people who thinks Bill Gates is evil and out to dominate the world or some such foolishness.

  • I agree with JeremyP--thing I like best about Vista is, aside from software updates, you don't have to shut your PC all the way down; you just put it in sleep mode, essentially, and all's well.

  • Sorry, folks, but I disagree. I'm writing this from an Acer Extensa laptop running Vista, which I bought last November, and I like it just fine. And let's face it, was XP all that great the first time you used it? No.
